The Amazing Power of Social Media
Social media is definitely powerful on bridging communication with friends from all over the world, and even making new friends. I did not continue to start writing until I started to engage communication with some people on Twitter.
I found this truly amazing. Kyle Lacy, Staci J. Shelton and Noel Bellen.. I have never met these people in person, and I believe they had no idea of who I was before we started to communicate online. It was by their support that I found new spirit and become passionate again in writing. I strongly believe that there are a lot of other great people we could meet online.
However, the example above only works if YOU work it. I wouldn’t dare to expect those three amazing people would give their support to me if I hadn’t try to communicate with them, and also giving my support TO them.

Kyle Lacy is one of the most influential people in Social Media while I’m just starting to get into the business. Not only that he let me learn from him, he also gave his support. He is now, without any doubt, my role model. I’m now planning and saving money so I can get myself to one of his smash classes.

Staci J. Shelton is another great example. She has thousands of followers on Twitter and she communicates with a lot of them in a daily basis.
I didn’t really know what Twitter was all about until I started to follow Staci. I started to learn from her and how she manages to engage with her friends on Twitter. It came to a surprise to me, that she actually remembered every single communication we have had. It’s amazing how she shows her interests in helping me, someone she barely knew and have never met in person.

Noel Bellen is no different. It all started with how he –just like Kyle and Staci- always noticed when I support his blog by sharing the articles on his blog to my followers.
He never misses to say thanks and replies to my tweets. I wasn’t confident enough to start publishing my writing due to my lack of skills in English. Noel told me to just go out there and do it. Write in my own language if I must, there is always Google Translate to help readers with. It’s amazing how he encouraged me to do this.

You see, social media is just a tool. It’s out there for you to use, and most of them are free. But it’s not going to help you if you are not utilizing it with the right attitude. It is never too late to learn. And while you are at it, why not learning it from the BEST? Then when it’s time for YOU to shine, make it your business to help others, especially those who are new to the social media world.
Now, do you know any GREAT people to recommend, or maybe you have experienced the same thing as I have? Please share it on the comment form below…

You are far too humble. In my case, it was you who started sharing my blog posts. You are a fish in the sea of Social Media, this is where you belong. You understood the most important lesson when it comes to Social Networking: give and you shall receive.
You, my dearest friend, are the living proof of that. I am honored to count you amongst my online friends. I am convinced we will meet one day in real life too, and let me tell you, I already look forward to that moment.

Thanks, buddy!
You are right, I totally agree that we must give in order to receive. Nobody recognize you unless you mark your way up and, most importantly, be consistent in what we are doing.
Yes, Belgium is definitely a destination to die for. Can’t wait to meet you in person!
